THE FRIDAY THREE

STRESS. NUTRITION. HORMONES.

Three ideas for working in sync with yourself

Hi Reader

Three things for your Friday: one for stress, one for hormones, one for nutrition.

STRESS - The Capacity Question

Having time for something doesn't mean you have capacity for it.

A free evening after a demanding day at work is technically available. But if you're already mentally and physically depleted, filling that space may cost more than it gives you.

Before saying yes, ask: Do I have capacity for this, or can I just fit it in?

NUTRITION - The Pink Elephant

Tell yourself not to think about a pink elephant and you'll think about a pink elephant.

Food can work the same way. The more attention you give to not eating chocolate, not snacking or not ordering a takeaway, the more mental space those foods occupy.

Instead of starting with what to remove, ask: What can I add that would support me?

Protein. Plants. A proper lunch. An afternoon snack.

Add before you subtract.

HORMONES - The Recovery Gap

The Recovery Gap is the difference between what you're asking of your body and what you're giving it back.

A demanding job, hard training, poor sleep and a full diary all require something from you. Recovery is what helps you meet those demands.

You won't always be able to reduce the pressure. So ask: Where can I increase the recovery?

Which one did you need this week?

I’m curious, where are you asking the most from yourself at the moment, and are you giving enough back?

Hit reply and tell me.

With care and wellness,

Cat
