STRESS - Borrowed Urgency
Someone else's urgency doesn't automatically need to become yours.
A client, colleague or manager may need something quickly. Sometimes it genuinely is urgent. Sometimes you're simply absorbing the pressure with which the request arrived.
Before reacting, separate the two: Is this urgent, or does it just feel urgent because someone else is stressed?
NUTRITION - The Satisfaction Test
A meal can be nutritionally balanced and still leave you looking for something else afterwards.
Nutrition isn't only about what a meal contains. Satisfaction matters too.
If you're regularly eating and then immediately searching the cupboards, ask: Was I actually satisfied by what I ate?
The goal isn't to choose between nutritious food and enjoyable food. Build meals that give you both.
HORMONES - The Pattern Before the Problem
One difficult day tells you very little. A pattern tells you more.
Instead of judging yourself for suddenly feeling more tired, hungry, emotional or less tolerant at certain points in your cycle, notice whether it happens consistently.
Don't diagnose the day. Look for the pattern.
Patterns give you something useful to work with and, where needed, useful information to take to a healthcare professional.
Which one did you need this week?
This week, notice what keeps repeating. An urgency you keep absorbing, a meal that never quite satisfies you or a pattern across your cycle. What are you noticing?
